Over 3000 students were engaged in learning earth science through art as part of the 2006 International Stone Carving Symposium. 

Thousands more continue to be engaged through the curriculum trunk developed in collaboration with teachers and geologists.  Containing lesson plans, books and materials it is in use throughout district elementary schools.
