In 1996, Saint Paul celebrated the centennial birthday of its native son F. Scott Fitzgerald with a Literature Festival and unveiling of a bronze sculpture in Rice Park by artist Michael B. Price. Said project patron Garrison Keillor: “This sculpture was conceived as a figure in the midst of things, a figure you could walk up to and talk to. Ftzgerald was a writer and a writer encounters his public one by one, as readers.” Sponsored by the Saint Paul Foundation.
Michael Price died in 2001. His many admirers established Public Art Saint Paul’s Michael B. Price fund to celebrate Artists in Saint Paul.
