Commissioned in 1993 from artist Cliff Garten by the Saint Paul Foundation to celebrate the City’s 150th anniversary, the Garden speaks of the world’s people who journeyed to settle and build this city on the Mississippi River. Incised into the Garden’s railings overlooking the river are the words of poets Soyini Guyton, John Minczeski, Sandra Benitez, David Mura, Robert Hill-Whiteman, and Xeng Sue Yang, poet.
